Alicia Sidlo
PT, DPT, PCS
Alicia is a pediatric physical therapist with 17 years of experience working in a variety of settings. After completing two years of Peace Corps in Guatemala and volunteering in a center for children with special needs, she realized she had a passion for pediatrics and physical therapy and graduated from Columbia University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2007. Since then, she is also proud to have become board certified pediatric specialist.
She began her career working in a pediatric rehabilitation hospital setting where she was exposed to a variety of medically complex children with high need for skilled physical therapy. She learned from seasoned physical therapists with extensive experience and deep compassion. She brings this experience with her wherever she provides physical therapy from home based early intervention to outpatient to aquatic therapy and to the pediatric long term care setting where she currently works full time.
Alicia deeply enjoys and appreciates the opportunity to be part of a child and their family journey through development and progress. She finds her role to be inspiring and rewarding and feels she learns from children every day. She works collaboratively with the child, the family, the medical team, and anyone else involved in the growth of the child. She is committed to finding the path for success for each individual whether that be through play, dance, music, or word games. Alicia has a strong belief that every child should be treated fairly and with love and respect.
As a mother, Alicia well understands the complexity of raising any child and she had the experience of her first child requiring six weeks in the NICU and 2 years of physical therapy as a child. This gives her a unique perspective and appreciation for those who are working through this experience.
